He Sent His Word and Healed Them

Baptism of Jesus

The bible says:

He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Psalms 107:20 (KJV)

What was this word that He sent and that by this word He healed the people?

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1 (KJV)

In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:4 (KJV)

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John 1:14 (KJV)

From these verses we can easily conclude that Jesus was that word which the Father sent.  Now it makes perfect sense that He healed the people through Jesus because Jesus was His word made flesh.

But Jesus was only with us for 33 years before he was crucified, buried, resurrected and ascended into heaven.  So how can God’s word Jesus made flesh still heal us today?

Because even Jesus Himself did not do any of his works by His own power but by the power of the Holy Spirit.

You see, Jesus was the first man ever to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.  Yes, man.  Even though He was the Son of God, he constantly referred to himself as the son of man.  He did none of His works as the Son of God but as the son of man empowered by the Holy Spirit.

He did not come as the mighty, conquering Son of God but as a humble and meek little baby of the same flesh as ours.  He took on our flesh and our frailty so that He could call us brethren.

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Hebrews 2:11 (KJV)

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Hebrews 2:14 (KJV)

He became one of us as the son of man so that we could become one of His as a son of God.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12 (KJV)

As sons of God, Jesus is our brother and our example.  This is why Jesus commissions us as one of His:

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12 (KJV)

If we believe on Him, then we are like Him and we will do the works of God, the same works Jesus saw His Father do because we are empowered by the same Holy Spirit He endued Jesus with.

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11 (KJV)

The people who had just partaken of the feeding of the 5,000 came to the other side of the sea marveling how Jesus had arrived there without having left in the boat with the disciples and asked him:

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:28-29 (KJV)

Jesus said this before He instructed the disciples in John 14:12 that he who believed on Him, the works that He did, they would do also and even greater works.

So the key to doing the works of God, the same works that Jesus did, is to believe on Him whom God the Father had sent.  We can do this because Jesus said so and believing on Him means believing every word He spoke as the word of God made flesh.

But we must not only just believe but actually do the works.  Yes, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17) but we must be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves ( James 1:22) into believing that only faith is needed and no works are necessary.

In healing ourselves we must believe that we have received our healing already and act on this as having received it already.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:24 (KJV)

We must also declare it.  Most of Jesus’ healing were commands and declarations.  There is no example in scripture of Jesus simply praying and the individual was healed.  How do we declare our healing?  Very simple.  We speak it onto being.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23 (KJV)

God Himself did the same.

(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Romans 4:17 (KJV)

Do we not speak as the oracles of God?  Do we not have the mind of Christ?  Are we not heirs of God and fellow heirs with Jesus Christ?  Are we not ambassadors for Christ?  Are we not sons of God?  Do we not walk as sons and not just as mere men?

The only two works that Jesus did as the Son of God were 1) giving His back to the smiters by taking the stripes on His back for our healing and, 2) taking the nails on the cross shedding His blood for our salvation.  Once for all – – which only He could do as the Son of God.

By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10 (KJV)

Just as He offered His body once for all for the full payment of all of our sins, so He offered His body at the whipping post as full payment for all of our sickness and disease.

Just as he took and bore our sins, so He also took our infirmities and bore the sicknesses.  Just as by His blood we were saved, so by His stripes we were healed.

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Peter 2:24 (KJV)

This was foretold by the prophet Isaiah.

Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4-5 (KJV)

Matthew confirmed this is His gospel which he wrote four years after Jesus ascension.

And evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, `Himself took our infirmities (weaknesses), and the sicknesses he did bear.’ Matthew 8:16-17 (YLT)

Isaiah said “He’s coming.”  Matthew said “He’s here and doing it right now.”  And Peter said “it’s already done.”

You will also notice that Matthew changed Isaiah’s prophecy.  Isaiah said “Surely he hath borne our griefs (sicknesses), and carried our sorrows (pains):”, where Matthew says “Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.”

He changed “our” sicknesses to “the” sicknesses.  That’s because Jesus had already fulfilled this prophecy and born them by the time of Matthew writing his gospel.  So they are no longer ours but His and we no longer have to bear them one more minute.

And because Jesus bore them 2,000 years ago, we do not have to bear them at all today.  The payment is made, the price is paid and the healing is yours right now this very day.

Do you believe it brother or sister?  Then take it right now, declare it so and be free.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36 (KJV)

Agree with me:

Jesus, I thank you for taking my infirmities and bearing the sickness.  I recognize and confess that they are no longer mine but yours because you took them from me and bore them at the whipping post.  I am therefore free of all sicknesses and am already healed by your stripes.  I apply your stipes my body and am totally healed and completely made whole.  Just like the woman with the issue of blood, according to my faith so be it unto me.  In Jesus’ name, I cast out the spirit of infirmity and all lying devils trying to convince me otherwise NOW!  Get out and stay out!  I command complete healing to my body from head to toe and every part in between.  Now I will go and do what I could not do before and show the enemy that I am no longer under his oppression but am set free by the name of Jesus and faith in that name.  It is written in Luke 10:19 (YLT): “lo, I give to you the authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and on all the power of the enemy, and nothing by any means shall hurt you;” So be it and no other way!

Now check it out and please share your testimony with us.
