Healing Through Communion

matzahThere are two sides to celebrating communion:

  1. The bread symbolizes His body which was broken for us
  2. The wine symbolizes His blood which was shed for us

Most modern day church services rush past the bread to get to the wine because they want to recognize the salvation it represents.  However, they are completely ignorant of what Christ’s body, represented by the bread, was broken for.  In doing so they eat damnation to themselves not discerning that His sinless body was broken for their healing, represented by the unleavened bread.  This is why many are weak and sick and die.

Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.  1 Corinthians 11:27-30

Why are we so ready and eager to discern and embrace His body crucified on the cross for our current salvation but in total contrast, discount and disregard discerning His body for our current healing.  If we are saved by faith then we are healed by that same faith, are we not?

Therefor discerning His body means to have faith that the price Jesus paid with His body is right now complete and effective for both our instant salvation as well as our instant healing.

If we do not have faith to discern His body for our healing then how can we have faith to discern His body for our salvation?  And if so, then are we really born again.

Jesus told Nicodemus Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3).  How did Jesus describe the kingdom of God?

“And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.”  Luke 10:9

If one must be born again to be able to see the kingdom of God, then if one cannot see that healing the sick represents the kingdom of God, then is that one really born again?

There have been many testimonies of people getting instantly healed during communion services where the Lord’s body was rightfully discerned.  Curry Blake tells of a communion service he performed where a woman with a huge goiter started screaming after taking the bread and was she instantly healed.  She saw a vision of Jesus squeezing her goiter and  it exploding.  When she went to feel it with her hand, it was gone.

Historically, this is how believers in the early church were healed, during the administering of communion.  It is still as effective today to those who believe and discern His body.

If you are in need of healing, next time you partake in communion, discern His body that it was broken for you and that His stripes apply to you and you too, shall be healed.
