Festival Of Healings

We decided to have a team outreach at the Fall Foliage Festival in Port Jervis, NY, right over the border from New Jersey.

I have never seen so many people needing healing all gathered in one place.  It looked like an invalid ward and as if someone had planned a special outing for people with disabilities.  The fields were literally “white already to harvest” as it says in John 4:35.  I usually keep a log of people prayed for but there was no time to take any notes at all.  The minute you were done praying for one person, another captive soul needing deliverance stood in front of you with a cane, crutches or in a wheelchair.  We really had a field day!

Port Jervis2.pngHere are just a few of our encounters:

One lady got very scared.  She walked with a cane and her foot was hurting her.  She very nonchalantly accepted my offer to pray for her.  “Sure you can pray for me.” she said with an attitude like, what could that possibly do for me?  The minute I bent down, laid my hand on her foot and commanded the pain to go, I looked up and her casual demeanor and smiling face had suddenly disappeared and was replaced by an expression of horror.  As she backed away from she exclaimed: “What are you?  You are scaring me!”  I assured her that it wasn’t me but Jesus who had just instantly healed her to prove to her that He loves her by setting her free of her pain.  She turned around and walked away quickly, quite confused and quite without using her cane!

I guarantee you that her life was changed that day having been touched by the Savior.  She will never be the same again.  As Curry Blake says: “A good healing goes a long way towards changing someone’s minds.”  It is hard to deny when it suddenly becomes very real.

But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.  Mark 9:39

We saw many knees, hips and shoulders healed instantly and people praising Jesus for the personal gifts they had received.  A woman was standing with a group of 4 seniors leaning on her cane.  When I offered to pray for her, all of them wanted prayer too.  They all got healed.

The one man in the group said he had had 5 strokes and that he had an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) in his chest (yes, I had to look that one up too!)  I put my hand on his heart, commanded it to be healed and asked him how he felt.  He said he couldn’t feel anything.  So then I hovered my hand over his heart and told him to tell me when he felt something.

About 10 seconds later he said he felt a tingling.  Then he said he felt a warmth.  His wife gawked at him with her mouth open: “You can really feel something?”  He assured her that he could feel heat.  I told him to let me know when it became unbearable.  It only took about another 10 seconds for him to say that it was too hot and I removed my hand.  Obviously confused, his wife kept spouting off the doctors that he had to see on a regular basis.  So I asked her “How about Dr. Jesus?  He just healed your husband.”  All she could say was: “Yes, Him too.”

It can be quite unsettling to meet Jesus face to face for real for the very first time Who defeats all human logic and reasoning and in an instant nullifies all the reports of the revered doctors and esteemed physicians, who are all just practicing anyway.

Praise Jesus!  He is God!  He is the Great Physician Yehovah Rapha!  He is the same yesterday, and today, and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)
