Jesus Heals Cancer

Healed.gifBetty, one of our team members, came out to our outreach event at the flea market. As we were walking around, we noticed a woman standing next to a booth with crutches leaning against her shopping cart as she was waiting for her husband who was checking the wares a vendor had to offer.

We asked her if the crutches were hers and she explained that she was holding on to them for her husband who had just had surgery on his knee.  When we asked if we could pray for her husband, she said, “Well he’s busy right now but you can pray for me.”  It turned out that she had cancer and weakness on the left side of her body.

Her name was Shirley and I offered Betty to pray for her and she gladly accepted.  Betty laid hands on her and commanded all the cancer to go and the spirit of cancer to leave her body and not return.  She prayed for her whole body to be healed and made whole.

Betty took her time ministering to Shirley and when she was done Shirley said that she could feel power going through her entire body.  We explained to her that that was the power of the Holy Spirit doing his operation in her and healing her body.  She said that she had never experienced anything like this before.

So we explained some more about how Jesus had already paid for her healing 2,000 years ago with the stripes on his back and that the word tells us in Isaiah 53:3-4 and in 1 Peter 2:24 that by His  stripes we are healed.  We also explained Romans 8:11 which states that the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same Spirit that dwells in us and quickens our mortal bodies.

She was so grateful and appreciative and said that she had never heard anyone explain it like that before.  “Why don’t they preach this in church?” She asked.  We started explaining that most churches today will not preach this message for a reason.  She commented right away, “Oh yeah, they don’t want to lose your money.”   “Yes,” I responded, “that’s one reason, but the other reason is that they are afraid to perform that which they preach when their parishioners ask for the preacher to heal them.  Yet it is what Jesus commands us to do.”

So I pulled out a gospel of John and opened it to 14:12 and read it to her, “See here it says that Jesus tells us, if we believe on Him, the works that He did, we will do also.  And greater than these shall we do because He went to the Father.”  Then I asked her, “Have you ever heard anyone preach on that?”  She said, “No, I have never heard anyone preach what you are talking about.  You explain it so simple.”  “But it is simple.  Jesus spoke plainly and so do we.” I responded.

I asked her. “Why did Jesus heal?”  “To prove the word He preached, that it was true?” she replied.  “Exactly!” I answered her, “Jesus said to the non-believing Pharisees ‘If you do not believe me then believe the works that I do for they testify of me.’  Jesus wants all believers to minister healing to confirm His word.  These are the signs that follow the believers as in Mark 16:17 & 18.  The Holy Spirit in Betty that touched you, is the same Holy Spirit that is in you.  You have the same power to be able to lay hands on others, including your own husband, to heal them.  All that Betty did was to strectch forth His hand for healiing and that signs and wonders occur in the name of His holy child Jesus.”

She wanted to know where our church was and where she could learn this too.  I explained to her that we teach this to people at our home every Wednesday evening and that she was more than welcome to join us and learn.  She took my card and said she would call me.

She gave Betty a great big hug and said that she was so thankful that we had met today.   She was a believer and also baptized in the Holy Ghost but was physically overwhelmed that Jesus would touch her and heal her so direct that she could feel His touch surge through her entire body.

All the glory goes to Him!  Praise Jesus!
