Not Enough Faith?

Faith_w

I hear it all the time.

“Maybe I just don’t have enough faith to be healed.”

Maybe you don’t if that is what you are declaring.

Let me take you back to a lesson Jesus taught the apostles about faith.

Here it is:

And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you. Luke 17:5-6

Let’s also read it in the literal version:

And the apostles said to the LORD, “Add to us faith”; and the LORD said, “If you had faith as a grain of mustard, you would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you. Luke 17:5-6 (LSV)

Sycamine Tree

Don’t the apostles sound like good church people of today?  Asking nice things they do not really mean or have no clue of what they are really asking?

Unfortunately we do not know the intonation of how Jesus responded.  We do not have the audio of it but I am certain that someday soon we will be able to see the video of it in heaven.  But I have an idea.

Notice that Jesus did not grant their request but ignored it. Instead he reprimanded their total lack of faith.  How do we know this?  Jesus said: “If you had faith…” implying they had no faith at all.

Loosely paraphrasing: “What do you mean increase your faith?  How can I add to or increase what you don’t even have?  But if you just even had a tiny bit of faith, as small as a mustard seed, you would have spoken to this sycamine tree, and commanded it to be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you. But you haven’t even spoken to anything at all yet.  So how can you even have any faith?  And how can I possibly increase it until you start speaking?”

Summarizing: if you had faith you would have spoken.

Have you spoken to your issues or are you still begging and waiting on God to do it for you?  That’s Old Testament.  In the New Testament, we as sons of God, have the same power and authority Jesus had when He walked the earth.  And the commission to do it too.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12

The bottom-line is… you either have faith… or you don’t.

There is no in between.

It is like being pregnant.  You either is or you ain’t.  You cannot be just a little bit pregnant but not sure.  But you can get a pregnancy tester as a litmus test to see whether you are pregnant or not.

What is the litmus test to determine whether you have faith or not.  It is whether you act on your faith or not.

Even if it is a small as a mustard seed, at least you have faith.  If you don’t have a mustard seed, you cannot plant or grow anything.  But you can plant a mustard seed and water it and it will grow.  And you will grow your faith to the degree that you act on it.  This is the secret to unlocking and enforcing faith for miracles and to move mountains and they will obey you.  ACT!

I saw a sign the other day in an individual’s room, who laid on their sick bed, that said this:

three little words

pray

trust

wait

As soon as I saw it, I pointed out that the saying was wrong and should be:

pray

trust

ACT!

The individual said “No, that sign has given me a lot of comfort.”

I replied “Yes, and you will be waiting a long time unless you act and start talking to your illness.”
