The Kingdom Of God Is Not In Word, But In Power

crippled_woman.pngJesus never excluded ministering healing from proclaiming the good news of the kingdom as almost all preachers do today.  Modern day preachers do the exact opposite.  They preach in word only and carefully and purposely avoid at all cost to minister healing for fear of nonperformance and thus they be exposed as spiritually devoid of power and risk losing their following.   Continue reading The Kingdom Of God Is Not In Word, But In Power

Dumb Sheep or Dumb Shepherds?

lost-sheep-1

His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
Isaiah 56:10-11

Why is it that most sermons today are geared towards dumb sheep?  Why are they being preached to from only half a gospel?  You know, only from the parts that don’t allow the sheep to ever challenge the shepherd’s message?   Continue reading Dumb Sheep or Dumb Shepherds?

Can I Take Your Order?

generic_fastfood“Yes, one double cheeseburger with extra cheese, hold the pickle, large fries and a strawberry milkshake.  O, and I’ll have some extra mayo with that.”

How is it that we have no problem ordering what we want from a fast food menu, but we get all tongue tied when we order healing for someone?  Yes, I said order.

Praying for healing for someone is just like ordering off of a menu.  When you order food, you have to tell the person taking your order exactly what you want.  If you don’t, you may not get what you want or like what you get.  If you hesitate and don’t know what you want or don’t say it clear enough, they may ask you to please step aside and let the next person in line order until you know what it is that you want to order.   Continue reading Can I Take Your Order?

Be Like Jesus

trying-to-be-like-jesus
I’m trying to be like Jesus

How many people want to be like Jesus?  Many confess that they would like to be like Jesus but have their reasons why they are not.  These reasons range from “It is just too difficult” to “I am not called” to “I am not worthy.”  But sadly many reasons just plainly boil down to “I don’t really know what it takes to even come close to being like Jesus”.

But I truly believe that many people would love to be just like Jesus…if they only knew how.  I will even take it up a notch.  I believe that both men and women, children and teenagers, the old and the young, would pour out their lives and exhaust themselves in service of their Savior and King…if they only knew how.

Knees Instantly Healed

walkerAt their very first flea market outreach, brand new team members Liesl and Gabe, offered to pray for Gloria who was sitting in her walker nibbling on an ear of corn.

She told them that she had problems with both of her knees and gladly accepted their prayers.  Liesl commanded all of the pain to go and for her knees to be completely healed and made whole.  Even their daughter chimed in and commanded the pain to “Get out!”.   Continue reading Knees Instantly Healed

The ABC’s Of Healing

Lame-beggar-healed.jpgJust as the basic message of the gospel is so simple that even a child can understand it, so simple is the message of healing.

FACT: Jesus paid for our sins with his blood on the cross.

Because of Jesus’ payment by sacrificing Himself for us, He paid the price that we owed for our sins, for us.  He wasn’t just nailed to the cross for us, but in our place.

He took our sins upon Himself to make us free of them.

RESULT: We are saved!

FACT: Jesus paid for our healing with his stripes at the whipping post.   Continue reading The ABC’s Of Healing

2000 Years Of Charismatic Christianity

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  Matthew 16:18

2000-years

Another highly recommended book revealing that the gifts, or rather the “charisma” or literally “grace effects”, of the Holy Spirit, though heavily suppressed during the dark ages, have always been in operation.

These “grace effects” of having the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer are now coming to he forefront as believers take hold of the promise of the Father.

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.  Luke 24:49

Many Christians today believe that only some are gifted to be able to exercise the “grace effects” of the Holy Spirit.  Not so.  Yes, there are people specially gifted and these are special gifts.  But all true believers are commissioned to do the same works that Jesus did and greater.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.  John 14:12

If they will only put their hand to the plow…   Continue reading 2000 Years Of Charismatic Christianity

Spiritual Basic Training

bootThis Tuesday I received an email from Dave, one of our newest team members.

He was writing to let me know about last Saturday’s outreach event and why he wasn’t there.  He had assured me that he would be there but I never saw him.  Here’s why:   Continue reading Spiritual Basic Training

Drive By Healing

walkerIt was a warm summer day and I was driving from one appointment to another for business.  The way my GPS was sending me, meandered through a suburban neighborhood of small, one family homes with a decent size yard in front of each home.

I crossed over a road and casually looked to my left when I saw her.  She was weeding her garden holding on to her walker.  It struck me odd that an older woman with a handicap, would be out in the heat of the day, weeding her garden with her walker.  As I pondered the scene, I kept driving and was about a block away when it hit me.  I should stop to pray for her.  After all, I had just started learning about being able to pray for people to heal them.

No, I can’t.  I need to get to my next appointment, I thought, when immediately my conscience smote me and spoke to me loud and clear, “No you don’t!  You have at least another hour before you need to be there!”   Continue reading Drive By Healing

Moving Mountains

We were at the flea market with our team and bumped into Fermin.

He was walking very slowly with a cane.  He was Spanish speaking but also spoke pretty good English.  When we asked him what the condition was he said he was in severe back and neck pain.  He could not even turn his head.

Margaret, one of our team members, had come for the first time to our outreach event.  She had several health issues herself which we prayed for and she was set free of them all.  She even received a vision correction to where she could suddenly read the signs posted in the office trailer window from a distance.  As a result, Margaret said she was ready to be activated (the term we use to have disciples pray for other people and see them get instantly healed).   Continue reading Moving Mountains

Prayers God Cannot Answer

You’ve heard these kind of prayers.  They are repeated over and over ad nauseam in almost every modem day church and by modern day believers, or people who claim to be believers, all over the world.  Here are a few examples:

  • praise-godO, Lord, please heal me.
  • O, Lord, please heal brother so and so.
  • God, please guide the surgeon’s hand during the operation to heal sister so and so.
  • Lord, please give the doctor wisdom to find out what is wrong with me.
  • Lord I pray that You might have mercy on my friend to heal them of their illness.
  • O, Lord, I pray that You will send your healing power to heal so and so of their cancer.
  • O, Lord, if it be Thy will to heal then please heal so and so.

Let’s start with the last one first because this is the one that unlocks all the others.  Continue reading Prayers God Cannot Answer

This Day Is This Scripture Fulfilled In Your Ears

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.  Luke 4:18-19 (fulfilling Isaiah 61:1-2a)

holyghostTogether with Jesus, and in His name, I declare unto you:

…This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.  Luke 4:21

Now before any Pharisees out there want to throw me off a cliff, let me explain.

Just as the Father had anointed Jesus to do all of these things, so has He today anointed you and me, as believers and disciples of Jesus Christ, and baptized in the Holy Spirit, to do the same.  Let me prove it to you from scripture.   Continue reading This Day Is This Scripture Fulfilled In Your Ears

If Two Of You Shall Agree

we-agreeIf someone asks you to pray for them, what is your first reaction?

Is it something like, “O no, what do I say?  How do I pray?  What if I don’t know what to say?” Etc., etc., etc.

Instead, why not just agree with them?  That is what the word tells us to do.

Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.  Matthew 18:18-20

Spiritual Fireworks

My wife and I were invited to come watch the fireworks over the lake at our friends’ house for the fourth of July.  It turned out to be a fellowship of believers of a local church we attend.

We came to find out that unfortunately the fireworks were canceled due to the weather conditions.  Thunder and lightning storms were in the forecast and sure enough, as we sat on the porch enjoying the vista of the lake, it started pouring and we all quickly retreated indoors.

My wife was chatting up a storm inside with some of the women and I just happened to be standing by two other ladies I had never met before, Gayle and Elizabeth.  We started talking about dogs and cats and showing each other pictures of our pets.  Then we switched to discussing different religions when Gayle asked if we could sit down because her back was hurting her.  I asked her where it hurt and she said “Right here.” while she took my hand and pressed it right onto the spot after I had offered to pray for her.   Continue reading Spiritual Fireworks
