I was recently impressed with an unusual prayer request I received from a lady named Nancy. Her request came in from this website and she asked something not many people ask.
Here is her request:
“I am in need of healing but concerned that if I am unable to receive for myself, I will not be able to keep my healing or receive healing as needed in the future.”

One day as I was standing drinking coffee and eating a pastry after the service in the church I used to attend, a brother standing next to me doing the same, looked at me and out of nowhere asked me this question:
“Why don’t we see healing in the church?”
My first thought was “Excuse me? Lord, You put him here, didn’t You?” and I smiled. Mind you, I had never met him before and this church was not all that big.
So I responded “That’s because you are in the church.”

I just received this testimony from Cornelius, a brother in the Lord, with his permission to share it along with the eye doctor’s documented report that his eyes are completely healed and that he no longer needs corrective lenses or any glasses at all.
Cornelius shared with me that the doctor was actually a bit upset that he would not not need cataract surgery on the other eye. I know times are tough but she could at least have been happy for him. I guess she was not happy that she had just she lost another customer.

You prayed for healing for your friend and did not see anything happen.
So you stopped, shrugged your shoulders and made every excuse under the sun why they were not healed.
And you gave up.
Who told you that when you laid hands, nothing happened? Was it that lying devil? Why did you listen to him? Why did you believe him? Why? Will he ever tell you the truth?
Just because you did not see it, did not mean that nothing happened. It did. As I was shopping at Costco picking up some things my wife had indicated we needed, I saw a gentleman driving around in a motorized shopping cart. His young daughter was walking with him and around his cart. I pulled up alongside him and asked: “Did you hurt yourself that you are using this go-kart?”
He looked up at me and smiled and said:”Oh no, I need to go for surgery on my knee.” as he held his left knee with his hand.
“Well, I’m a minister and I pray for people and God heals them. Can I pray for you?” I asked.

How is it that we have no problem ordering what we want from a fast food menu, but we get all tongue tied when we order healing for someone? Yes, I said order.
Praying for healing for someone is just like ordering off of a menu. When you order food, you have to tell the person taking your order exactly what you want. If you don’t, you may not get what you want or like what you get. If you hesitate and don’t know what you want or don’t say it clear enough, they may ask you to please step aside and let the next person in line order until you know what it is that you want to order. How many people want to be like Jesus? Many confess that they would like to be like Jesus but have their reasons why they are not. These reasons range from “It is just too difficult” to “I am not called” to “I am not worthy.” But sadly many reasons just plainly boil down to “I don’t really know what it takes to even come close to being like Jesus”.
But I truly believe that many people would love to be just like Jesus…if they only knew how. I will even take it up a notch. I believe that both men and women, children and teenagers, the old and the young, would pour out their lives and exhaust themselves in service of their Savior and King…if they only knew how.
